From the F/W 2004 collection of Alexander McQueen, this midi coat is cut in a fine, densely woven fabric of pale ecru-beige that has the soft, even surface associated with high-grade wool or cashmere. The coat opens with a clean, hook-free front — no visible buttons or fastenings — framed by a deep V-shaped lapel line that rises to a structured stand collar. The silhouette is slim through the shoulders and bust, gently flaring into an A-line skirt via a concealed back vent that allows ease of movement. Two patch pockets with flat, squared-off flaps sit low at hip level, their edges finished without topstitching for a minimal effect. A single raised centre-back seam and corresponding
centre-front seam run the full length of the coat, providing both architectural line and subtle shaping. The sleeves are long and set-in, with a notable detail at the shoulder: a rectangular cutout at the sleeve head, revealing a small aperture in the fabric — a distinctive deconstructive gesture.
