Blumarine S/S 2006 Black Floral-Print Lace-Panelled Slip Dress

From the S/S 2006 collection of Blumarine, this slip dress is constructed from a black ground fabric printed with large-scale hydrangea blooms and fern fronds in shades of pink, blush, and green. The garment is cut on a fluid, bias-influenced silhouette that widens gradually towards a softly fluted, handkerchief-hem finish at the knee. Black floral lace panels appear at the V-neckline — forming a wide décolleté yoke across the chest and back — and recur as diagonal inset panels running down the body on both the front and reverse, creating a patchwork interplay between the printed fabric and the semi-sheer lace. The neckline and strap edges are finished with a fine scalloped lace trim. The dress is sleeveless, supported by narrow lace straps, and the back mirrors the deep V of the front. No visible external closures; the hem is left with a raw, lettuce-edge-style finish consistent with the fluid construction.
