Blumarine Early 2000s Turquoise Underwater Print Pleated Mesh Midi Skirt

From the early 2000s collection of Blumarine, this midi skirt is executed in a fine pleated mesh carrying a vivid underwater scene: swirling turquoise water forms the ground, populated by tropical fish in blue, yellow and orange, branching coral in coral-red and pink, seahorses, and shells distributed across the full surface. The silhouette is fitted through the hip and flares into a trumpet hem, cut with a notably asymmetric handkerchief-point finish at the lower edge. The waistband is clean and unadorned. The rolled, lettuce-edge hem treatment at the base reinforces the fluid, organic quality of the design. The pleating runs consistently throughout, giving the fabric a fine textural crinkle and enhancing the movement of the flared skirt panels. The piece is lined in a solid teal fabric visible at the interior waistband.
