From the S/S 2005 collection of Blumarine, this silk slip dress employs a graduated mixed-print composition: a gold and brown leopard motif dominates the bodice before dissolving into a dense border of painted roses, peonies and delphinium clusters in red, pink, blue and green, which in turn yields to a plain dusty-rose ground at the hem. Cut on a relaxed bias-influenced silhouette, the dress features a deep V-neckline front and a scooped back, both bound in contrasting rose-pink piping that continues along the spaghetti straps. The front opening is fastened by a run of small self-covered or tone-on-tone buttons set within the pink-piped placket. The skirt falls to a fluted, slightly flared hem with a fine lettuce or rolled edge finish, and the dress appears to be constructed in two layers — a printed outer and a plain underlayer visible at the hem — lending the skirt a gentle swing.
