Miu Miu F/W 1999 White Sheer Mesh Bodycon Midi Dress

From the F/W 1999 collection of Miu Miu, this bodycon dress is constructed in a fine open-weave mesh that renders the fabric semi-transparent throughout. The silhouette is close-fitting and columnar, cut on the straight grain with vertical seam lines running from the bust panel to the hip, providing structure without boning. A horizontal seam divides the bodice from the skirt at approximately natural-waist level. The neckline is a square scoop at the front and a deeper rounded scoop at the back, supported by wide, flat shoulder straps. A concealed zip closure runs along the left side seam, visible in the side-profile photograph. The hem falls to midi length and is finished with an unlined, lettuce-edged frill of the same mesh, giving a deliberately undone quality to the lower edge. The dress is lined internally to the hip, with the skirt portion remaining unlined and therefore sheer.
