From the S/S 1987 collection of John Galliano London, this fine-knit bodysuit represents an early and assured exercise in second-skin dressing. The body is worked in a close-gauge horizontally ribbed knit in charcoal marl, cut with a high, self-fabric turtleneck that fastens at the centre back with a short metal zip. Long set-in sleeves taper to neat fitted cuffs, while the torso is shaped through the knit itself rather than by seaming, following the contours of the body with precision. At the lower hem, the knit gives way to a darker woven satin-finish gusset panel that frames the leg openings, fastening beneath with press studs. Side vents at the hem add ease. The back view reveals a clean, uninterrupted silhouette from nape to base, with the rear zip terminating just below the collar stand.

Size XS (IT38/FR34) — Early Galliano London pieces run small and are unstructured in sizing; the close-knit construction offers minimal ease. Best suited to a true XS–S frame.
