From the F/W 2006 collection of John Galliano, this black mini skirt is cut to a structured, body-skimming silhouette with pronounced vertical panelling across the upper body, achieved through topstitched seaming that articulates the form. The waistband sits at the natural waist and is finished with an unlined raw-edge top. A column of fabric-covered dome buttons runs vertically along the right side seam, functioning as the closure. The lower portion of the skirt transitions into a voluminous bubble construction: an inner layer of crinkled fabric is gathered and contained beneath a sheer, semi-transparent outer frill that falls in deep, undulating pleats, creating a dramatically inflated hem. The hemline is asymmetric and intentionally raw-edged, consistent with the deconstructed finishing visible throughout the garment.
