John Galliano F/W 2003 Cream Cherry-Print Ruched Sleeveless Top

From the F/W 2003 collection of John Galliano, this sleeveless top is executed in a lightweight fabric printed with a large-scale botanical cherry motif — vivid red cherries with stems and serrated leaves rendered in the manner of a naturalist illustration against a cream ground. The neckline is a deep plunge at both front and back, with wide, gently curving shoulder straps that follow the line of the armscye. The defining constructional feature is a central front panel that is gathered continuously from neckline to hem, creating dense ruching that draws the fabric inward and produces soft horizontal folds across the body. Closure is achieved via a column of small self-covered snap fastenings running the full length of the ruched centre seam. Side seams are ungathered, allowing the print to fall cleanly on each panel. The hem is lightly curved.
