From the F/W 1990 collection of Yves Saint Laurent, this slip dress is constructed entirely from sheer black lace worked in an all-over scrolling floral pattern. The sweetheart neckline is edged with a delicate picot-loop lace trim that continues around the bust panel, and is anchored at the centre front by a small velvet ribbon bow. Adjustable spaghetti straps in what appears to be the same narrow velvet ribbon rise from the bustier-shaped bodice, lending a lingerie-adjacent formality. The body falls in a close, bias-influenced line from the structured bust to just above the knee, finishing with the same picot-loop trim that borders the neckline. A diagonal lace seam panels the skirt on the left side, adding subtle relief without disrupting the fluidity of the silhouette. The hem is cut with a gentle asymmetric sweep, slightly longer at the back.
