6/6Yves Saint Laurent by Tom Ford F/W 2001 Black Angora Striped High-Neck Knit Top
From the F/W 2001 collection of Yves Saint Laurent by Tom Ford, this fitted knit top is constructed in a densely piled, long-fibre angora in black, worked into a body-conscious silhouette that follows the torso closely through the bust and waist. Vertical white-contrast stripe insets run the full length of the garment — front, back, and sleeves — creating an illusion of sculptural panelling; the stripes appear to be knitted-in tuck or ladder openwork columns that expose a finer, lighter-toned ground beneath, lending a subtle semi-sheer quality to each channel. The neckline is a close-standing funnel collar, softly rolled and finished in the same angora pile. Long fitted sleeves taper to narrow, ribbed cuffs. The back view reveals a central rear zip running from collar to mid-back. The hem falls at a cropped-to-hip length and is finished with a very slight curved basque at the centre front, echoing the waist suppression of the cut.
