From the S/S 2003 collection of Yves Saint Laurent by Tom Ford, this long-sleeve top is constructed in two contrasting weights of black fabric. The body and sleeves are formed from a semi-opaque jersey, while a vertical sheer panel runs the full centre-front from the deep V-neckline to the hem, and a corresponding panel traverses the centre-back from collar to hem. Further sheer insets are set into the shoulder seams, creating a precise linear geometry across the garment. The neckline is cut into a generous deep V, framed by a narrow self-trim of the sheer fabric. The sleeves are long and close-fitting, finishing at the wrist with a delicate lettuce-edge frill in the sheer fabric; the same frill treatment is repeated at the hem. The silhouette is slightly body-skimming, tapering gently through the waist.
