8/8Roberto Cavalli S/S 2004 Yellow Animal-Print Halterneck Open-Back Maxi Dress
From the S/S 2004 collection of Roberto Cavalli, this maxi dress is constructed in a chartreuse yellow ground fabric printed with an exuberant composition of leopard, zebra and ornamental ribbon motifs, bordered at the hem by a deep chocolate-brown band with a continuation of the printed border. The silhouette is cut on fluid, relaxed lines that fall straight from the bust to a gently flared hem. The neckline is formed by a gathered halter construction, the fabric drawn up and secured by multiple fine suede lacing strands that wrap around the neck; these terminate at the front in an ornamental charm cluster comprising a gold-tone filigree bead, a gold-tone feather pendant and small polished turquoise and red stone drops. The back is fully open, with a deep cowl scoop revealing the back entirely, the suede ties crossing behind the neck as the sole structural support.
