Roberto Cavalli S/S 2001 Psychedelic Marbled-Print Short-Sleeve Top

From the S/S 2001 collection of Roberto Cavalli, this short-sleeved top is constructed in a fluid, lightweight fabric printed with an all-over marbled swirl pattern in coral, slate blue, ivory and black — the motif shifting in scale and direction across the cloth, creating an optical, feather-like effect. The garment is cut in two distinct sections: a draped cowl-collar panel that falls loosely over the upper body and a fitted lower bodice, the two joined at the natural waist by a visible silver-tone zip fastening that runs vertically at centre front. The sleeves are short and set-in, each finished at the cuff with a self-fabric tie that knots at the outer edge. The back is cut as a single panel, printed with a softer, more diffuse rendering of the same design, and finished with a continuation of the centre-back zip. The hem falls straight and the overall silhouette is close-fitting through the bodice.
