Prada F/W 2000 Brown Silk Chiffon Pansy-Print Midi Dress With Slip

From the F/W 2000 collection of Prada, this midi dress is constructed in a fine, semi-sheer chiffon over an integral slip, both in a deep chocolate brown ground printed with a scattered motif of pansy heads rendered in burgundy, violet and pale lavender. The round neckline and upper chest panel are formed in the sheer outer layer, creating a delicate illusion décolleté effect where the chiffon sits over bare skin. Short cap sleeves, also cut from the sheer layer, feature a softly scalloped hem at the cuff. The bodice is shaped through vertical seaming that defines a fitted waist, with a horizontal seam marking the transition to the skirt. The skirt falls to mid-calf in an A-line silhouette with gentle flare. A concealed zip closure runs down the centre back, finished at the nape with a small covered button.
