This Plein Sud skirt from the 2000s works an arresting counterpoint between military utility and couture embellishment. Cut to a straight, close-fitting pencil silhouette, the skirt is constructed in a classic four-colour camouflage print ground — khaki, olive, tan, and dark brown — finished with a flat waistband. Across the entirety of the exterior surface, dense rows of cylindrical bugle beads are hand-applied in tonal bronze, mink, mauve, and gunmetal, the beads suspended individually to catch the light and shift with movement, lending a tactile, almost architectural texture that partially obscures the camouflage beneath. The hem falls straight at approximately knee length, with individual beads extending fractionally below the fabric edge to create a fine, irregular fringe. The skirt is fully lined in a plain olive ground fabric visible at the interior waistband.
