From the S/S 1998 collection of Dolce & Gabbana, this midi dress presents a two-register construction: a form-fitted bustier bodice supported by narrow spaghetti straps and a fully sheer mesh column skirt falling to midi length. The bodice is composed of a sheer mesh ground overlaid with diagonal ruched bands of a denser black mesh, creating a spiralling banded effect across the torso that tapers toward the waist. A nude-toned satin placket runs along the centre-back from bodice hem to hip, housing the concealed back closure; a single press stud is visible at the placket opening. The skirt section is cut from the same sheer mesh as the bodice underlayer and falls in a straight, unlined column, with visible internal seam lines and a narrow bound hem at the floor. The overall silhouette is close and body-conscious throughout.
Size M (IT42/FR38) — Consistent with a contemporary Italian size 42 / French 38. The ruched mesh bodice offers a degree of stretch; the skirt is unlined and unforgiving in silhouette.
