Dolce & Gabbana S/S 2008 White And Magenta Poppy-Print Ruched Silk Mini Dress

From the S/S 2008 collection of Dolce & Gabbana, this mini dress is executed in a lustrous fabric carrying a large-scale poppy print in graduated magenta and deep plum on a white ground, the blooms detailed with acid-green stamens and buds. The silhouette is body-conscious throughout, with continuous ruching gathered horizontally across the bust, waist and hip panels, creating a sculptural, draped effect that narrows sharply at the waist before releasing over the hips. The straight, strapless neckline is finished with a white structured band that also anchors two slender, adjustable spaghetti straps — visible in the photographs as plain white, providing contrast against the printed body. The dress closes at the centre back with a full-length exposed zip in a tonal dark plum finish. The hem falls at mini length. The interior is lined in a smooth ivory fabric.
