Dolce & Gabbana S/S 2001 Sand Fringed Linen Military Jacket With Crystal Mesh Trim

From the S/S 2001 collection of Dolce & Gabbana, this tailored military jacket is constructed in a sand-toned open-weave fabric and cut to a fitted, waist-defining silhouette. The standing band collar is supported by structured epaulettes at each shoulder, each fastened with a small engraved button. Two patch pockets sit at the chest, each closed by a matching button, with two further patch pockets positioned at the hip. The front opening is left hookless and unfastened, the leading edges finished with deliberately raw, hand-pulled fringe rather than a conventional hem. A column of silver crystal mesh — chainmail in character — runs the full length of the front placket, visible as a contrasting panel between the fringe borders. The same crystal mesh appears as a cuff lining, peering beneath the plain long sleeves. The hem and side seams are likewise finished in raw fringe, continuing the intentional deconstructed treatment across the lower circumference of the jacket. A single back seam gives clean vertical structure to the rear panel, which shares the fringed hem.
