From the S/S 1997 collection of Dolce & Gabbana, this midi coat is cut in a lightweight, fluid fabric printed with a large-scale painterly floral motif in terracotta, dusty rose, amber and dark brown on a slate-grey ground. The silhouette is softly A-line from a deep V-neckline, with a single-breasted front fastening of four round white buttons running from chest to below the waist. Set-in long sleeves taper to plain, unadorned cuffs. The back is unbroken save for a central seam that contributes gentle shaping through the torso, releasing into a relaxed sweep at the hem. The hem falls to approximately midi length with a subtly curved finish. Construction throughout is clean and unfussy, allowing the scale and palette of the print to carry the garment.
