From the S/S 2004 collection of Christian Dior by John Galliano, this fitted jacket is constructed in a high-lustre silver metallic fabric and articulated with dramatic black tulle detailing throughout. The front opens with a deep V-neckline and fastens at the centre with a single button. The shoulders are framed by voluminous gathered tulle panels that billow over each cap, anchored by a broad black band that wraps across the chest and ties at the front into a long sash, its trailing length finished in the same sheer tulle. At the back, the tulle is gathered and ruched into a dense central column that runs the full length of the torso, flanked by radiating pleated sections that fan outward from the shoulder blades — an architectural effect that reads as a second, entirely distinct garment when viewed from behind. The body is fitted through the waist, with diagonal seam panelling that sculpts the silhouette.
