Christian Dior by John Galliano S/S 2008 Red Sheer Floral-Printed Ruffled Blouse

From the S/S 2008 collection of Christian Dior by John Galliano, this blouse is constructed in a sheer, semi-transparent fabric carrying an allover floral and starburst print in red, white, blue and violet. The deep V-neckline is framed by a cascading double ruffle that runs from the collar down the centre-front placket and terminates in a swept asymmetric frill at the hem. A small covered button is visible at the upper centre-front. The collar itself is cut as a narrow, softly rolled band finished with a matching lettuce-edged ruffle. The body is fitted through the torso and flares gently at the hip, while a further ruffled frill trims the entire hem at the back. Long fitted sleeves taper to the wrist without a visible cuff closure, with the sleeve edges finished to match the overall delicate, unlined construction.
