Chloé by Stella McCartney S/S 2000 Ecru Embroidered Cropped Jacket

From the S/S 2000 collection of Chloé by Stella McCartney, this cropped jacket is executed in a twill-weave ecru cotton and carries an extensive programme of embroidery drawn in a sketchlike, tattoo-flash idiom. To the left sleeve, a rearing dragon rendered in blue, red and black thread descends the length of the arm. To the upper right chest, a second creature — a winged beast with an open yellow beak — appears mid-lunge. Centred on the back yoke, a snarling feline head is worked in white, grey, yellow and red thread with a fine hatched outline, creating an illusion of ink on skin. At the lower back hem, a small winged insect motif completes the bestiary. The jacket fastens at centre front with a brass-tone full-length zip beneath a spread collar. Two welt pockets sit at the hip, defined by stitched lips flush with the face fabric. Long set-in sleeves finish at buttoned two-piece cuffs with a single button fastening at the outer edge. The hemline is cut straight and unlined at the body, with a fine silk-like lining visible at the interior.
