Yves Saint Laurent by Tom Ford F/W 2004 Teal Satin Panelled Midi Skirt
From the F/W 2004 collection of Yves Saint Laurent by Tom Ford, this midi skirt is constructed in a deep teal satin, its lustrous surface graduating subtly from bright teal at the waistband to a richer, deeper tone toward the hem. The silhouette is shaped by broad contrast panels in a pale mint fabric — matte in texture against the satin ground — running along the sides and back, framed on all edges by a sinuous, wave-form scalloped border in matching teal. This undulating seam line, repeated continuously from waist to hem, functions as the skirt's primary decorative statement. A fitted, straight-cut waistband in satin sits at the top. The rear panel is similarly constructed with the contrast insert visible from waist to hem, and the skirt closes at the centre back via a concealed zip beneath the waistband. A narrow kick vent opens at the centre back hem. The hemline is finished with the same scalloped border, the satin overlay extending fractionally beyond the pale ground, creating a layered effect at the base.
