Yves Saint Laurent by Tom Ford F/W 2004 Rive Gauche Crimson Tiered Velvet-Waistband Pencil Skirt
From the F/W 2004 collection of Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche by Tom Ford, this pencil skirt is constructed in a lustrous iridescent fabric that shifts between deep crimson and magenta depending on the light. The body is composed of seven horizontal tiered panels, each layer folding slightly over the one below to create a sculptural, overlapping effect across the full circumference of the skirt. The waistband is faced in a contrasting velvet in a tonal deep rose, providing a textural counterpoint to the sheen of the body fabric. A concealed centre-back zip provides fastening. The hem is finished with a narrow, smooth underskirt panel and a small central back vent. The overall silhouette is fitted throughout, falling to a midi length just below the knee.
