8/8Gucci by Tom Ford F/W 2002 Black Sheer Bandage-Panelled Off-Shoulder Slit-Sleeve Top
From the F/W 2002 collection of Gucci by Tom Ford, this long-sleeved top is constructed in a semi-sheer fine-knit fabric worked in alternating horizontal bandage-style panels across the body, creating a graduated opacity from bodice to hem. The neckline is a wide, softly draped off-shoulder scoop, supported by a broader folded band at the collarbone that forms a shallow cowl. The bodice panels transition at the waist into pronounced ruching gathered asymmetrically, drawing the hem to one side and producing a distinctly diagonal lower edge. The full-length sleeves are fitted through the upper arm, with gathered ruching at the forearm that culminates in dramatically elongated slit cuffs — each cuff split to a pointed open end well below the wrist, a signature deconstructive detail visible in both the front and side views. The reverse mirrors the front panelling with the same ruched waist treatment and asymmetric hem.
