From the 1990s archive of Vivienne Westwood, this cropped corset top pairs a structured velvet busk panel with long jersey sleeves for a characteristically subversive juxtaposition of lingerie and tailoring. The deep scoop neckline is framed by a wide velvet border that extends across the shoulders, forming broad strap-like panels before meeting the boned front bodice. The corset section is worked in velvet and articulated by vertical topstitched channels — indicative of internal boning — which radiate from a centre-front point downward in a pronounced cupped silhouette.
