Valentino S/S 2006 Ivory Floral-Print Lace-Panelled Camisole Top

From the S/S 2006 collection of Valentino, this camisole top is executed in an ivory ground printed with large-scale pink and rose peonies with deep green foliage. The bodice is cut with a deep plunge V-neckline to the front and wide, flat straps that tie at the shoulder. At the underbust, a broad band of ivory floral lace defines the waist and extends as side panels that run the full length of the skirt, giving the silhouette an open, semi-sheer quality at the sides. A central lace placket descends from the waist band to the hem at the front, further articulating the layered construction. The skirt falls in soft, full pleats from the lace waistband, producing gentle volume at the hip. The back is cut square and low, with corresponding tie-fastening straps. All raw edges of the printed fabric are finished with clean, narrow hems.
