Valentino S/S 2002 Black Ruffled Flared Trousers
From the S/S 2002 collection of Valentino, these full-length trousers present a sleek, body-skimming line through the hip and upper leg before opening dramatically at the lower leg. The construction is distinguished by a series of curved, bias-cut panels that graduate downward from approximately knee level, each releasing into cascading, unlined ruffled flounces that pool generously at the hem. The panelling is executed with precision topstitching that traces the arc of each tier, lending sculptural definition to the silhouette. The waistband is narrow and clean-finished, sitting at the natural waist; a concealed zip closure is visible at the centre back. Hanging loops are present at the waistband for storage. The trousers are cut without front pockets, maintaining an uninterrupted line through the thigh.
