From the F/W 1996 collection of Valentino, this two-piece skirt suit is executed in a monochrome herringbone-weave fabric throughout. The cropped jacket features a wide, folded portrait collar that frames a deep V-opening, with a single-breasted front fastening of three large dark burgundy buttons. The hem of the jacket is finished with a visible topstitched band that demarcates the cropped silhouette. Long sleeves taper to the wrist with no visible cuff detail. The straight knee-length skirt sits slightly below the jacket hem and follows a clean, unfussy A-line cut. Both pieces share the same herringbone cloth, creating a unified ensemble.
