Saint Laurent Rive Gauche F/W 1969 Black Frog-Fastened Fur-Trimmed Wool Coat
From the F/W 1969 collection of Saint Laurent Rive Gauche, this black wool coat presents an austere yet ornate silhouette of considerable archival significance. The stand collar frames a single-breasted front closure comprising four large passementerie frog fastenings, each worked in elaborately scrolled and knotted cord; a matching frog fastening is centred at the back waistline, functioning as a decorative anchor point above the flared skirt. The coat is cut with a defined waist, structured shoulders with a slight gathered head, and long set-in sleeves terminating in deep cuffs of dense, short-pile black fur. Two flap pockets sit at the hips, their pointed lower edges echoing the military-inflected tailoring. The back falls from a central seam into a generously flared skirt, with a rear centre vent at the hem. The body is fully lined in a dark fabric visible at the interior.
