From the F/W 1990 collection of Romeo Gigli, this black open-weave crochet top is constructed entirely in a large-cell net stitch, lending the piece a deliberately open, almost structural transparency. The silhouette is cropped and boxy, with short set-in sleeves finished with an uneven, organically worked edge that echoes the irregular border treatment at the hem and front opening. The deep V-neckline is framed by lapel-like revers that fall open, giving the front a loose, draped quality. Centre-front fastening is achieved via a narrow woven grosgrain placket carrying three small dark buttons, providing a restrained structural contrast to the hand-worked net ground. The back is worked in a slightly more regular honeycomb mesh, transitioning into the fringed and looped edging visible at the sides and hem.
