Roberto Cavalli S/S 2006 Dusty Rose Satin Lace-Trimmed Ruffled Slip Dress
From the S/S 2006 collection of Roberto Cavalli, this slip dress is constructed in a dusty rose satin that reads with a pronounced liquid lustre. The bodice is cut with a deep V-neckline framed by a broad cross of cream floral lace that extends diagonally from each shoulder strap to meet at the centre front, where a column of covered buttons descends to a small jewelled heart-shaped embellishment. Vertical panel seaming at the sides and centre back shapes the torso closely. Fine adjustable spaghetti straps support the bodice, and a concealed gold-tone zip runs along the centre back. The skirt section, set slightly lower to create a visible waist break, falls in a bias-influenced column before flaring at the hem into two tiers of fine pleated ruffles finished with a lace-edged underlayer. The hem is asymmetric, dipping lower at the back.
