Roberto Cavalli S/S 2003 Red And Black Chinoiserie Floral Printed Satin Mini Dress
From the S/S 2003 collection of Roberto Cavalli, this sleeveless mini dress is constructed in a lustrous satin-finish fabric printed with an all-over chinoiserie floral motif — peonies, stylised blooms and foliage rendered in teal, sage, blush, ivory and gold against a ground that transitions diagonally between deep black and vivid red. The panelling is engineered so that the colour-block division runs on a bold diagonal across both the front and back bodies, creating an asymmetric composition that shifts the pattern placement dramatically from panel to panel. A stand collar in the mandarin tradition rises at the neckline, finished with a pointed, slightly flared edge. The dress is sleeveless with a clean, rounded opening at each shoulder. The silhouette is fitted and straight-cut, falling to a short mini hem. A discreet side slit is visible at the lower hem on at least one side. The back is clean and unadorned, with the diagonal colour division continuing from front to reverse.
