Roberto Cavalli S/S 2003 Black And Red Chinoiserie Pleated Silk Tank Top
From the S/S 2003 collection of Roberto Cavalli, this sleeveless tank top is constructed in a fine vertically pleated silk, which lends the surface a characteristic crinkled luminosity threaded through with metallic gold yarns visible in close-up. The ground is predominantly black, transitioning at the shoulders and upper chest to a bold red, the two fields divided by a sweeping chinoiserie-inspired floral motif rendered in ivory, sage, dusty blue, blush and ochre. The neckline is a moderate V at both front and back, finished with a self-bound edge that carries the printed pattern continuously. Broad straps rise from the V-neckline over the shoulder without seaming. The silhouette is close-fitting and body-conscious, with the pleating providing inherent stretch and drape. At the front V-point, a small pendant charm is attached: a gold-tone filigree medallion suspending two faceted red beads, functioning as a decorative accent rather than a closure.
