Roberto Cavalli S/S 2001 Turquoise & Cream Liz Eye Straight-Leg Denim Jeans
From the S/S 2001 collection of Roberto Cavalli, these straight-leg jeans are among the house's most arresting Liz Eye-print denim pieces of the early 2000s. The body is constructed in a cream-ground denim overlaid with an all-over photorealistic print combining a dramatically kohl-rimmed eye and parted lips with large-scale blue roses and an interlocking gold baroque scrollwork border that runs along the hip yoke, hemline, and leg seams. The waistband is executed in a contrasting turquoise denim woven with a fine gold-lurex thread, lending it a subtle metallic shimmer. The five-pocket construction follows a classic jean template: two curved front slash pockets with riveted corners, a small coin pocket, and two patch pockets to the rear. Closure is by a concealed zip fly with a branded gold-tone press stud. The leg falls in a clean straight line from the low-rise hip to a wide, unfinished-looking hem. Topstitching throughout is in cream, consistent with the pale ground of the body fabric.
