Prada S/S 2008 Grey Sheer Printed Capelet Blouse

From the S/S 2008 collection of Prada, this sheer blouse is constructed in a fine, semi-transparent slate-grey fabric carrying a large-scale figurative print in tones of ochre, ecru, sage green, violet and purple — incorporating floral, architectural and human motifs across the entire ground. The blouse features a standing band collar finished with a single covered button at the centre back, from which a gathered, unlined sheer capelet drapes over the shoulders and upper chest, its front edges cut with a shallow scalloped hem and framed by a narrow bound finish in a darker fabric. The front opening descends with a vertical column of small fabric-covered ball buttons and corresponding loops in place of a conventional button placket. Short, flutter cap sleeves extend from the capelet layer. The body is cut with a gently fitted silhouette that tapers through the waist and flares slightly at the curved hem. A concealed zip is set into the left side seam. The back mirrors the print placement of the front and features a single keyhole opening at the neckline beneath the collar button.
