Prada S/S 2009 Brown Crinkled Strapless Bandeau Top
From the S/S 2009 collection of Prada, this strapless bandeau top is cut from a heavily crinkled fabric in a warm tobacco brown. The upper edge is finished with a narrow elasticated channel that gathers the cloth into dense horizontal ruching, while a matching elasticated band at the hem creates a blouson silhouette. The open front is framed by two overlapping panels that meet at centre-front without a conventional closure, leaving a vertical aperture secured instead by a narrow black grosgrain tie bow at the base. At the upper edge, a further black grosgrain tie—looped through small dark buttons on each panel—draws the neckline together and allows the wearer to adjust the décolletage. The contrast between the tobacco crinkled body and the crisp black ties is characteristic of the collection's utilitarian-inflected approach to feminine dressing.
