Miu Miu F/W 2007 Grey & Mint Textured Jacquard Strapless Corseted Cocktail Dress
From the F/W 2007 collection of Miu Miu, this strapless cocktail dress is constructed in a tonal wave-patterned jacquard fabric across three distinct colour zones. The structured bodice is worked in slate grey jacquard with a boned or reinforced corset silhouette, finished at the upper edge with a blush-pink ruffle trim in a contrasting, more loosely woven or gathered fabric of the same wave texture; this ruffle frames a sweetheart neckline and extends freely at the bust, lending a sculptural, slightly asymmetric quality when the dress is in motion. A wide, deeply pleated waistband in black — visually denser and with a subtle sheen distinct from the grey bodice — defines the high waist and acts as a strong graphic division between the upper and lower sections of the dress. The full, voluminous skirt is rendered in a lighter pale mint or celadon colourway of the same wave-textured jacquard, falling to approximately knee length with broad knife or box pleats radiating from the waistband to create a pronounced dome-shaped silhouette. A centred concealed zip runs up the back of the bodice through the black waistband, visible in the reverse photographs.
