Lolita Lempicka F/W 1995 Black Sheer Cobweb Lace Midi Dress

From the F/W 1995 collection of Lolita Lempicka, this sheer midi dress is worked entirely in a fine black lace carrying an all-over cobweb and spiderweb motif on a nude-toned ground. The open front falls from a low V-neckline and is fastened at three points — bust, waist and hip — by narrow satin ribbon bows tied in a placket configuration. The set-in long sleeves are cut close to the arm and finished at the cuff with a narrow flat trim that matches the hem treatment: a shallow frill of the same lace, edged with a fine satin ribbon border, runs along the lower hem and reappears as a delicate ruched frill at the neckline and front opening. A seamed waistband at the back defines the silhouette, and the skirt falls to a midi length, flaring slightly toward the hem. The rear view reveals a plain back bodice with a single visible seam running vertically from the waistband through the skirt, underlining the clean construction beneath the decorative surface.
