Jean Paul Gaultier F/W 2006 Dark Brown Leather Scalloped Fringed Corset
From the F/W 2006 collection of Jean Paul Gaultier, this leather corset is constructed in dark chocolate-brown leather and shaped to a pronounced hourglass silhouette through vertical boning channels stitched across the body. The deep V-neckline and wide shoulder straps are finished with a continuous scalloped leather edge, a treatment repeated along the centre-front placket and side panels. The front closure consists of a column of silver-toned hook-and-bar fastenings running the full length of the placket. An embossed or tooled motif is visible across the leather surface, lending the piece a further degree of surface intricacy. The reverse is fitted with a laced back opening, threaded through small metal eyelets, allowing adjustability at the waist; the shoulder straps are adjustable by means of leather buckle slides. The hem is finished with a dense fringe of cut leather strips extending around the full circumference, adding movement to the otherwise structured form.
