Gucci by Tom Ford S/S 2004 Black Pleated Midi Skirt With Purple Side Stripe
From the S/S 2004 collection of Gucci by Tom Ford, this midi skirt is constructed in black fabric with a structured upper body and a pleated, flared hem that opens from a horizontal seam at the lower third. Vertical pintuck-style seaming articulates the body of the skirt from waistband to hem, lending a boned, corseted quality to the silhouette. A broad double stripe in violet-purple runs the full length of one side seam, rendered in a contrasting satin-finish ribbon with a visible woven or ribbed texture. The waistband is finished with a narrow bound edge, with what appears to be a concealed zip closure at the rear. Patch pockets with raw or turned-edge finishing are set into the side panels. The hem is uneven and gently scalloped due to the released pleats, giving a fluid, asymmetric drape at the base.
