Gucci by Tom Ford F/W 1997 Black GG Velvet Monogram Shirt
From the F/W 1997 collection of Gucci by Tom Ford, this shirt is executed in a semi-sheer devore velvet carrying an all-over GG monogram in a tonal silver-on-black repeat. The pointed collar sits flat against a concealed placket that fastens with small gunmetal-tone buttons, one of which is visible at the collar stand. Long set-in sleeves are finished with single-button barrel cuffs; the cuff buttons match those at the collar. The silhouette is relaxed and slightly oversized through the body, tapering gently toward the hem, which falls straight and is lightly curved at the side vents. The devore technique creates a play of opaque pile and sheer ground across the surface, lending the fabric its characteristic lustre.
