From the F/W 1996 collection of Gucci by Tom Ford, this two-piece trouser suit epitomises the sharp, androgynous suiting for which the era became iconic. The blazer is cut in a pronounced double-breasted configuration with a wide, peaked lapel and strongly structured shoulders, lending a deliberately oversized, power-dressing silhouette. A row of two working buttons fastens the front, and the chest carries a single welt breast pocket. Two flap pockets sit at the hips. The sleeves are finished with a four-button cuff. The body is vented at the centre back. Throughout, the cloth is woven in a bold chalk-stripe on a deep navy ground, the stripes running vertically to elongate the figure. The matching high-waisted trousers are cut with a generous straight leg that broadens slightly toward the hem, consistent with the wide-leg silhouette seen on the original runway. The stripe pattern is carefully matched across both pieces.
