Gianni Versace F/W 1998 Couture Ivory Smocked Crystal-Embellished Empire-Line Midi Dress

From the F/W 1998 collection of Gianni Versace Couture, this empire-line midi dress is constructed in an ivory crinkled semi-sheer fabric with vertical pin-tuck striations throughout the bodice and skirt. The square-cut scoop neckline frames a softly gathered bust panel. The cap sleeves are formed from tightly gathered and lattice-smocked tubes of the same fabric, set with small crystal or rhinestone points at each lattice intersection, continuing the embellishment across the empire waistband, which features a wide band of diamond-grid smocking anchored at each crossing by a single stone. The skirt falls in loose, unpressed pleats to midi length. The back is finished with a concealed centre-back zip. The interior is lined in a smooth ivory satin.

Size L (IT44/FR40) — Italian size 44 per label. Empire cut with a gathered skirt offers some flexibility across the waist and hip.
