Dolce & Gabbana S/S 1998 Black Silk Mesh-Trimmed Pencil Skirt
From the S/S 1998 collection of Dolce & Gabbana, this pencil skirt is executed in a lustrous black silk with a subtle sheen. The silhouette is close-fitting and column-like, fitted through the hip and tapering gently to the knee before releasing into a below-the-knee hem. A wide satin-faced waistband finishes the upper edge cleanly. The back features a centred concealed zip closure and a kick vent at the hem seam. The defining constructional detail is a layer of black open-weave mesh tulle that extends below the shell, falling approximately two to three centimetres beneath the outer fabric and edged with a fine picot or scallop border, lending a lingerie-informed finish to an otherwise restrained form.
