Christian Dior by John Galliano S/S 2005 White Open-Knit Lace-Insert Top
From the S/S 2005 collection of Christian Dior by John Galliano, this long-sleeved top is worked in an open honeycomb-stitch knit throughout, with contrasting floral guipure lace panels inset at the deep V-neckline and continuing down the centre front placket. Horizontal bands of the same guipure lace punctuate each sleeve at two points — once above the elbow and again at the cuff — lending a structured rhythm to the otherwise fluid silhouette. The body is cut with a gentle waist-suppressed shaping that releases into a slightly flared hem, while the back presents an uninterrupted expanse of the honeycomb knit with a subtle vertical seam line at centre back. The hem is finished with a fine knitted border consistent with the cuff treatment.
