Blumarine S/S 2004 Ecru Hooded Lace And Satin-Ribbon Mini Dress Ensemble
From the S/S 2004 collection of Blumarine, this two-piece ensemble comprises a sleeveless hooded top and a coordinating lace mini skirt, presented together in a unified ecru colourway. The top is cut close to the body with a rounded neckline from which a draped hood extends, falling softly at the crown and framing the face; the hood is constructed from the same fluid fabric as the bodice and falls in relaxed folds at the back. The hem of the top sits slightly above the natural waist, creating a cropped effect that meets a separate lace skirt with a dropped hip seam. The skirt is constructed from tiered lace arranged in horizontal scalloped bands, each layer finishing with a delicate scalloped lace edge at the hem. A wide satin ribbon in a slightly warmer gold-ecru tone is threaded across the upper skirt and tied in a flat bow at the front-left, serving as the principal decorative accent and waist definition. The overall silhouette is slender and column-like, referencing a 1920s drop-waist sensibility.
