Blumarine F/W 2003 Purple Devoré Velvet Geometric Midi Dress
From the F/W 2003 collection of Blumarine, this midi dress is constructed in a devoré velvet bearing an all-over geometric motif of nested squares and interlocking lattice forms in purple, black, and warm bronze-gold against a pale ground. Cut on the bias at the lower body, the skirt panels rotate the repeat at an angle, lending movement and visual contrast to the composition. The silhouette is sleeveless, with wide shoulder straps, a shallow scoop neckline at the front and a corresponding deep scoop at the reverse, and a close-fitting through the torso before releasing into a fluid, flared hem with a softly ruffled edge. A concealed zip closure runs centrally at the back.
