Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquière F/W 2006 Black Leather Quilted-Collar Bomber Jacket
From the F/W 2006 collection of Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquière, this leather bomber jacket exemplifies the house's precise approach to utilitarian outerwear. The cropped, fitted silhouette closes at centre front with a silver-tone zip and is anchored by a structured stand collar with a visible diamond-quilted panel at the inner collar facing. The front is detailed with two large patch pockets set low on the body, each framed by topstitched borders, alongside a chest yoke seam with a further topstitched horizontal seam below. The back presents a central seam running from collar to hem, intersected by a topstitched horizontal band across the upper back and a second band at the waist, lending the rear panel a strong architectural quality. Long set-in sleeves taper to ribbed knit cuffs, which are echoed by a ribbed knit hem band, providing the characteristic bomber closure. The lining is a smooth dark twill. The leather surface shows the characteristic grain and sheen of a softer hide, with natural creasing throughout consistent with wear and age.
