From the S/S 1988 collection of Alaïa, this sharply tailored cropped blazer exemplifies the house's rigorous approach to structured suiting. Cut in a smooth, densely woven black fabric, the jacket features a clean notch lapel and a single-breasted front fastening with four dark shell buttons — a fifth button visible at the lower front placket. Two flap pockets sit at the hips, each finished with a small single-button tab detail. The sleeves are set-in and long, tapering to a narrow cuff with a two-button vent at each wrist. The back is unadorned and cleanly seamed through the centre, with a pronounced shoulder and a hem that falls sharply at the high waist. The overall silhouette is deliberately bolero-adjacent in its brevity, yet the structured tailoring and precise seaming give it an unambiguous authority.
